How to Create an Infographic with Canva

In today’s age of digital sharing, one of the easiest ways to communicate ideas quickly with incredible impact is to use an infographic.

A fan favorite of the Pinterest crowd (yes, I’m talking to all you teachers and your Pinterest projects), the infographic is not a new idea but one that has been embraced by the public and private sector to communicate ideas, promote new programs, and share information quickly and in a format that is easy to understand.

The problem with infographics is that, for a long time, you had to be a graphic designer to create them. While this was incredibly lucrative work for graphic designers, the rest of us normal human beings were stuck in the tall grass with our pitiful PowerPoint slides that we tried to convince people were great.

Enter Canva. If you haven’t used Canva yet I’m really not sure why. I use it almost every day to create any number of graphics for school and for my online adventures.

Canva is graphic design for everyone. In just a few minutes, you can go from zero to graphic design hero. Canva has templates for all sorts of projects, including great ones for creating infographics.

If you, or your students, are needing to create an infographic, watch the video below and see how easy it is to create an infographic with Canva.

Once you’re happy with your design, you can download it as a PNG for easy sharing online or even as a PDF for printing. As a matter of fact, you can now order prints through Canva directly. I haven’t tried it yet myself but would love to hear from you if you have!
